Welcome! I’d like to
introduce myself. I’m a native of Oklahoma, having graduated from Crescent High School
in 1982. I loved the experience of
small-town living, and it was in Crescent that I “discovered” the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ). I’m proud
to be a part of this denomination that celebrates diversity and encourages each
person to discover their own life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. I have been blessed by many faithful people
in the Disciples tradition!
I completed
a Bachelor of Science degree at Vanderbilt
University in Human and
Organizational Development, and went on to complete my seminary training at
Vanderbilt as well. I received a Masters
of Divinity in 1989 and was ordained at Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Since my
ordination I have served congregations in Tennessee
and Oklahoma. I have been blessed through service in a
variety of leadership areas including Children’s and Youth Ministries, Senior
Adult Ministries, hospital chaplaincy, and preaching and teaching roles. Here at Village Christian Church I enjoy
preaching, leading worship, equipping other leaders in the church, and pastoral
care.
I also
commit time and energy to my family who are a source of great joy for me. I am married to Jack O’Donnell, and together
we are parenting two teenagers---Anna, 16 and Sam, 13. As a family we enjoy “hanging out”, sharing
family meals, and traveling together any time we get the opportunity!
God has
blessed me by calling me to serve the good people of Village Christian
Church. Together we are a on a journey
to discover God’s lead in our life in the present and the future. We believe God has a mission for us in the
world, and we invite you to journey with us and to share the joy of Christian
community.
If I can be
of assistance, don’t hesitate to call.
May God enrich your life with strength and joy,
Amy
