Member of the Month
March, 2010
Lillie Sturdivan is our Member of the Month for March 2010.
Lillie Mae Simes Sturdivan was born on September 22, 1932 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Lillie has lived all of her life in Oklahoma. She attended Culbertson Elementary and Webster Jr High and graduated from Britton High School in 1950. After high school Lillie attended a business school.
Lillie worked for Allied Materials for 30 years, and when Allied Materials sold to Koch Industries she continued to work for them for two more years.
Lillie joined Village Christian Church in 1955. She has served as secretary of the Village Christian Church board, served on numerous committees; she has been a Deacon and is currently serving as co-chair of the Elders.
“Because He Lives” and “Amazing Grace” are two of Lillie’s favorite hymns.
Lillie enjoys playing bridge and Mahjong. She is a fan of OU football and enjoys OU girls basketball. Lillie is a volunteer at Integris Baptist Medical Center. She also is a board member of the Integris Volunteers Auxiliary.
Lillie has three children, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She says there are too many to give all their names.
Lillie enjoys eating at the Sportsman or Johnnie’s. Her favorite food is Fried Chicken.
Her favorite place to go and get away is Table Rock Lake. She especially enjoys watching television to relax.
When asked what is a lesson that life has taught you Lillie replied, “To be patient. Family and friends are the most important thing in my life, and the most important things in life are free”.
