Meet our November member of the month, Carol Stolfa. Carol Lynn Sughru Stolfa was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 4, 19??. Carol is the daughter of long time member Thelma Sughru. Carol has lived in Edmond, Oklahoma for 11 years; before that she lived in Oklahoma City.

Carol attended Ridgeview Elementary and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1972. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She also attended UCO and obtained a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Carol is presently employed with the Edmond Public Schools and teaches second grade at Orvis Risner Elementary. She has taught at Orvis Risner for 33 years.

Carol joined VCC on November 1, 1964 and has been active in Sunday School, Children Moments and has helped in the nursery. Carol also has helped organize our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Carol’s favorite hymn is "I Can Only Imagine".

While Carol was in college she was employed as a sales person in a clothing store and she worked as a waitress.

Carol has two sons, Brian, who is in the Army National Guard and is stationed at Ft. Lee, Richmond, VA. and Chris who goes to Oklahoma State University-OKC.

Carol enjoys going to the gym and reading. She has enjoyed going to Mexico and loves the water and the beach. When asked what her favorite food was she said Mexican. Her favorite place to eat, she says, is "My mother’s house."

When asked what lesson life has taught her she quoted Matthew 6: 34: "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day".
