Meet James and Kim Green our Members of the Month of April, 2010.
James William Green, Jr. was born on October 1, 1962 in Pasadena, Texas. He attended elementary school in Texarkana, Arkansas. James attended Junior High and High School in Red Rock, Texas. He graduated from Red Rock High School in 1980. He joined the United States Air Force in 1983 and retired from the Air Force in 2004.
James has done many different jobs, he has been a painter, worked in a paper mill, laid floor covering and was a boat salesperson for Bass Pro. He told me that of all the jobs he had done he enjoyed being in the military the best. James is currently employed at Tinker Air Force Base as Patient Safety & Patient Advocate Manager for Tinker Medical Clinic.
Kimberly Ann Basinger Green was born on January 9, 1965 in Wellington, Kansas. She is the daughter of Harold and Anita Basinger. Kim attended Harrison elementary, Eisenhower Junior High and John Marshall High School. Kim graduated from John Marshall in 1983. She attended two years at the University of Oklahoma.
Kim has been employed as a shoe salesperson, a cashier at North Park Mall Theater, took surveys in Crossroad mall, was a para legal for the law offices of Barragree & Prigmore and Fenton, Fenton, Smith, Reneau & Moon. Kim is currently employed for Gallagher Bassett as a Claims Supervisor. They administer Workers Compensation Claims.
James and Kim were married at Village Christian Church on November 11, 2001. James and Kim joined Village Christian Church in April of 2009. When asked what their favorite hymns were James replied “Shall we Gather at the River” and Kim said “Amazing Grace”. James is currently serving as a deacon. Kim is currently serving on the Church Growth Committee and both are members of “The Crew”.
James has two daughters, Amber Grayson and Candice Green and one grandson, Shelton Green. Kim has two sons, Andrew (A.J.) and Matt Leavell.
James said he likes to eat fish, steak and lasagna. He likes eating at Chili’s. He enjoys fishing, hunting, playing golf and likes to travel. His favorite place to go to relax is at Lake Fork, Texas.
When asked what her favorite food was Kim said “Mama’s noodles”, Mexican food and pizza. Kim said she like to go to the Lake of the Arbuckles. There she says she has no worries and it is so peaceful. Kim enjoys golf, reading and dancing.
James said that a lesson life has taught him was, “helping people is the most rewarding thing he can do”. Kim replied to that question with “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!”
